Ship breaking or ship demolition is a kind of ship disposal involving the dismantling of ships for either a source of parts, which can be sold for re-use, or for the extraction of raw materials to be melted done and reused in other structures like another boat or a building. When ships become about 25 to 30 years old they become much to expensive to keep running so the owners will sell them to ship breakers for dismantling. Many scraped ships end up on the beaches of Asia Bangladesh. when a ship comes the one of the beaches where ship breaking is done they wait for high tide then the captain drivers the ship full speed into the beach after that the workers will attach big steel cables to the shop and pull it further onto the shore for scraping. this can be very dangerous work for the people involved and they are payed very little only about $1.50 to $2.50 per day for their work. When ships are broken apart hazardous materials are released into the environment like ballast water is discharged onto the beach and materials like asbestos, fuels other toxic materials litter the beaches because of this fishing and farming near ship breaking beaches become impossible because of the ground is destroyed for the unsafe handling of the ships. In my opinion ship breaking need to be done but it need more regulations on it put there by the government to regulate ship breaking.
